AUGUST 2024: We are pleased to announce that the HABERLAB Team was awarded a Design Studio from the PCI Foundation to further precast and prestressed concrete education at USF. The Design Studio is being supported by a number of great industry partners including: Coreslab Structures Tampa; Standard Concrete Products Tampa; Dura-Stress; Eriksson Technologies; Eriksson Software; ceEntek; and the Florida Precast Concrete Association (FPCA) . This project was funded by the PCI Foundation.
JULY 2024: We are pleased to announce that the HABERLAB Team was awarded a research project to study fiber-reinforced concretes using fibers derived from up-cycled medical cannabis stocks. This project is being lead by researchers at Utah State University and was funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
JUNE 2024: We are pleased to announce that the HABERLAB Team was awarded a research project to divability of precast, prestessed UHPC H-piles. This project was funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
FEBRUARY 2024: We are pleased to announce that the HABERLAB Team was awarded a research project to develop an innovative steel bridge beam repair solution using 3D printing and UHPC. This project is funded by the Florida High-Tech Corridor Early Stage Innovation Fund. Link.
JANUARY 2024: We are pleased to announce that HABERLAB Team was awarded a research project to study bond and construction issues related to UHPC bridge deck overlays. This project is funded by Cor-Tuf UHPC and the Florida High-Tech Corridor.
Our team published an paper in ASCE Journal of Bridge Engineering on strengthening steel through-girder bridges using UHPC and post-tensioning. Article Link.
OCTOBER 2023: We are please to announce that HABERLAB Team, in partnership with University of Central Florida and USF's Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR), was awarded a research project to study the fragility of highway bridges subject to natural and non-natural hazards. This project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration.
